Tinctures

Our tinctures are whole-plant extractions made using organic grape or fruit alcohol, slowly drawn over a period of six to eight weeks at a 5:1 plant-to-liquid ratio. This alchemical process allows the full intelligence of the plant to be captured — not only its chemical constituents, but its aroma, vitality, and subtle qualities.

Tinctures offer one of the most effective ways of working with plants. Their high concentration allows for rapid absorption, making them particularly suited to situations where a more immediate response is needed. They are both powerful and versatile, bridging the space between traditional plant medicine and modern daily use.

Our range includes both single-plant extracts and carefully composed blends. Each formulation is created to support the body in a specific way, while still honouring the integrity and wholeness of the individual plants.

Tinctures can be taken directly or added to water, teas, botanical mocktails, or warm cacao. In this way, they become part of a daily rhythm — a simple and effective way of bringing plants into the body. They contain no preservatives, additives, or artificial flavours, only the preserved essence of the plant itself.

Tincture Safety

Tinctures are concentrated plant preparations and require a respectful and informed approach to use. Because they are extracted in alcohol, they should be kept safely out of reach of children and used with care in all households.

They are not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and anyone with an existing medical condition or taking medication should seek guidance from a qualified healthcare professional before use. As with all plant medicines, it is wise to begin with a low dose and observe how the body responds, allowing a relationship to form between person and plant.

These products have not been evaluated by SAHPRA and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease. Their role is to support the body, not to override it.

At Yamù, we encourage a way of working with plants that is participatory and conscious — where healing arises through relationship, awareness, and respect for the intelligence of nature.
